Camu Camu

The scientific name of this riverside tree is Myrciaria dubia, most of the world knows its fruits as Camu Camu or Cacari or Camocamo. It is most commonly found in the Amazon rainforest in Peru and Brazil, and the fruit is small, cherry-like drupe. Studies have shown Camu Camu powder to be a better alternative so synthetic Vitamin C because its food form is more easily digested and utilized by the body. Camu camu is rich in vitamin C, a vitamin that acts as a powerful antioxidant in your body and is vital for the health of your skin and immune system. It may have antibacterial properties and could help reduce blood pressure, weight, and blood sugar levels. However, more research is needed to support these findings.
